Back to school

I missed a whole week of school because I was ill. I was very hot in the head, and a nasty cough followed. The doctor told me to stay at home. I ate little, and did not want any medicine for two days. For the whole week, I got to watch some television, but still got very bored and I got up to all sorts of mischief. Yesterday, I ransacked Lorielyn's room, and Mummy sent me to my own room. I then got tearing at the paper on my wall - Papa was very unhappy.

Papa decided that we both needed a haircut! Théodore said he wanted to be bald, so that's what I also wanted too. ;-) Papa cut our hair quite short, but we both liked it.

Today was the first day at the same school as my brother. I think Mummy is relieved I don't have to stay at home any more. My teacher is Miss Qiu, Papa says she was Théodore's teacher last year.

Visit to Uncle Roger

Mummy and Papa took me and Theodore to see grandpa's friend Uncle Roger today . Uncle Roger's a dentist. I sat in his chair and he had a look at my teeth. He said my teeth were perfect:-)

We all stayed at home on Friday; Papa didn't have to go to work. There was a lot of rain, and a lot of wind. Papa said there was a direct hit on Hong Kong by typhoon Nuri.

I have a new school friend who lives in the estate across the road. Mummy invited her over for a play date on Sunday. Mummy baked us a big chocolate cake.

School starts

No more Kids' Gallery for me, I started school one week ago.

It is not so hot right now, so Mummy and Papa decided to take us to the beach on Sunday. I slept all the way there on the bus.

Swimming

It's summer, and I ask Papa to take me swimming. I have started taking lessons, and now enjoying putting my head in water and doing a few strokes.

My party

Mummy and Papa gave me a lovely firetruck, with a little man, for my birthday. I love it! Theodore keeps trying to snatch it from me. Papa told him to let me enjoy my present today, on my birthday.

Mummy and Papa arranged a fantastic party for me, inviting all my school friends. Nathalie, Ramona, Sahib, Wai Wai, Way Lian, Pak Yin, and Lok Lok came. We all sat together and made cookies.

Our parents all helped out, and we had a great time. My friends brought me lots of lovely presents :-).

Big bump on the head

I've been at home most of the day yesterday with Lorielyn, while Mummy and Papa took Theodore on a school outing. I was so excited to see them when they got back. Sitting on the back of the sofa, I lost my balance and fell backwards hitting my head on the floor. Mummy and Papa were really worried because I vomited. Luckily they didn't have far to go: they took me to the hospital right next door. After waiting an hour and a half, I was X-rayed. Mr Doctor said I had concussion and was probably OK, but told Papa to look out for some warning signs.

I was fine today, and went to school as usual this morning.

The Great Wall of China

In Beijing, we stayed in a flat belonging to Mummy's friend. It was warm, comfortable, and there were lots of toys to play with. It was cold outside, but fortunately there was central heating in the flat. Gonggong and Popo (grandpa and grandma) were also in town to see us.

We also had a day trip to the Great Wall at Badaling today. We took our time getting ready, so had quite a late start. The traffic was awful, and it took us ages to get there in our hire-car.

Once there, we climbed a long way to the top. We got back into town just in time to have dinner with some of Mummy's relatives who live in the city.

Our stay in Beijing

Today, we went to the Paleontology Museum, and spent the rest of the afternoon at the Natural History Museum. In the evening, we ate in a famous Peking Duck restaurant. It was very busy place, with many people waiting for tables; my Grandparents arrived at 6, but we still had to wait until 7:30 to be seated. Luckily, they had cooked up some dumplings so we had something to nibble on while we were waiting.

The day before yesterday, we went to the Beijing Zoo, where we particularly enjoyed the penguin house, and looking at the stone animals.

Arrived in Beijing

Mummy and Papa decided to take me and Théodore to Beijing for Easter.

We took the sleeper train all the way from Kowloon, via an inland route. The trip took 24 hours, and was a new experience. Papa had brought along some snacks, but we still had our meals in the dining compartment. I slept in both upper and lower bunks on the train. This afternoon, we got off the train at Beijing West Railway station.

I have been to Beijing before, when I was littler.
